michelle has loved pottery since she was just a little piece of clay. as an artist and writer, michelle fuses her two talents into one expression of fun with whimsical designs and witty messages that are right on the dot.
dot pottery was born as the custom design line from the dynamic patterns pottery studio in ithaca, new york. michelle and matthew dearing *md2* started the studio in 2001 and michelle was soon creating custom pieces for people all over the country.

her work has been commissioned by the telfair museum of art, warm biscuit bedding company, and the corazonas heart healthy snacks, as well as for engagements, weddings, anniversaries, births, birthdays, new homes, and graduations all across the United States (just to name a few).

michelle lives in springfield, illinois with her husband matthew and their three and one-half year-old daughter elizabeth noelle and eight month-old son, andrew thomas.
