HOW WE CREATE YOUR PERSONALIZED SIGNATURE CERAMICS

Creating personalized signature ceramics is a bit more involved than our other personalized designs. However, our customers know it's worth it because you'll receive a high-quality ceramic with a permanet, kiln fired design that will truely remain a wonderful and meaningful memory for your entire lifetime!

Our talented artist will create high quality, lasting, and memorable pottery just as you request. We will also work directly with you to make the entire experience of the pottery selection and design process simple and enjoyable!

So, here's how it works...

  • STEP 1 :: "Send your Request"
    Send your initial request by filling out and submitting the online form located on our Signature Ceramics page. We'll ask you what type of pottery you want, details about the personalized design you would like to order, as well as about how many signatures you expect to be signed on your pottery.
  • STEP 2 :: "Initial Design Hand Painted and Kiln Fired"
    You will be able to preview pictures of personalized designs created just for you by our artist. Once you have authorized the design, our artist will hand paint the initial design (without the signatures) and kiln fire your pottery. This will set the colored glazes of the design so that your guests may see what the finished piece will look like at your event.
  • STEP 3 :: "Sign your Ceramic"
    Next, we'll ship your unsigned pottery to you in time for your event, and will include a marker for your guests to use for signing their names and well wishes directly onto your pottery.
  • STEP 4 :: "Complete the Hand Painting"
    After all signatures have been completed, ship your pottery back to our studio to complete the final hand painting step. Be sure to re-use the original packing material so that you may minimize your packing and shipping costs, and to be sure that your pottery is packed securely!

    Our artist will then carefully hand paint over all the signatures with our special, food-safe glazes using the color of your choice. We will also coat your entire piece with a special sealing clear glaze and fire it once again in our kiln. The marker used by your guests will actually burn completely away during this second firing process leaving only the permanent colored glazes on your pottery. This finished product from this process will be a high-quality ceramic with a glassy and food-safe finish.

    THE ADVANTAGE OF DOT POTTERY :: Your Signature Ceramic is a special and memorable piece, and we want to make sure our original creation for you may be enjoyed for a lifetime!

    Unique and different from other Signature Pottery services available on the Internet, our additional process of having our artist hand paint your guests' signatures is the only method that allows for your signatures to be a permanent design that will never fade or rub off.

    Your guests will simply sign with a marker, but our artist will carefully hand paint the signatures with our professional and food-safe glazes.

    In addition, there are often minor "edits" of your guest signatures that you would prefer, so you may provide instructions to our artist and she may make any corrections necessary.

    Didn't like the "pretty coloring" scribbled by little cousin Timmy? No problem! We just won't paint over it with our glaze and the original marker will burn away clean in our final kiln firing process.

  • STEP 5 :: "Ship your Finished Ceramics"
    Finally, we ship your finished pottery back to you, once again re-using the same packing material to minimize your total shipping costs.

    Now, you may enjoy your Signature Ceramics for the rest of your life!
